For returning families and new families, the Orange Hunt Swim Team is a great way to enjoy the summer. We welcome swimmers of all abilities between the ages of 6 and 18 (* 4 and 5 year-olds who can swim a length of the pool unassisted are welcome to join the team, but should be evaluated). Our goal is to provide kids in our community a healthy, fun filled summer activity. Kids will enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport, learn/enhance a life skill, grow their self-confidence as they see improvement with their swimming skills, gets loads of great physical activity and participate in many team social activities. Parents will enjoy knowing that their kids will be getting exercise at least 45 minutes a day, five days a week, and getting to know their neighbors. Swim team is a family affair and we hope your family joins us.
To ensure a safe practice, children should be able to swim a length of the pool unassisted to participate on the Sharks swim team. Swimmers who cannot swim a length of the pool will participate in the Mini-sharks program. There will be a transitional group of Mini-sharks for swimmers who are close, but do not meet this criterion at the beginning of the season. Swimmer will be invited to join the regular practice for their age groups and participate in developmental meets as soon as they are able to make it across the pool (25 meters). Swimmers will be evaluated on the first day of swim practice.
Below is the practice schedule. We encourage all swimmers to be present at as many practices and meets as possible. The best way to improve is to practice. However, we fully understand that most swimmers will miss some time during the season. This is particularly true while school is still in session and spring sports and activities are winding down. We really do want your swimmer on the team even if they will miss half of the season!

We rely heavily on our families to help run each swim meet and social event. Each family is expected to earn at least 15 volunteer credits, but consider it a fun way to get involved and make new friends on the deck! This year swim team registration will be online on the Team Unify site. Each swim family will be required to keep a form of payment on file and your account will be assessed a $200 volunteer fee on August 1 if requirements are not met by the end of the swim season. Earning your volunteer credits is a breeze. We have many opportunities. No experience is required unless specifically identified. All volunteer opportunities will be available to sign up for and to monitor on our team website: Team Unify.
Communication regarding swim team will be via e-mail with abbreviated posting on social media. Please provide all e-mail addresses where you would like your swim team communiques sent.
